Responsible Drinking

Wine and Spirits Distributors of Illinois is committed to the responsible enjoyment of beverage alcohol. As part of that commitment, our efforts focus on:

Encouraging responsible consumption by adults
Preventing underage sales and drinking
Supporting the three-tier system

Responsible enjoyment of alcoholic beverages by adults is made possible by the controls put in place when the three-tier system was created at the end of Prohibition in 1933. Suppliers (manufacturers) of alcoholic beverages sell their products to wholesale distributors who, in turn, sell to retailers. This regulatory structure ensures the best products reach adult consumers through licensed retailers.
